Cookie policy
This site sets no cookies at all unless you accept analytics. Here is exactly what that means.
Last updated
The short version#
By default, nothing. No cookies are set when you arrive, no analytics run, and no third-party scripts load. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics loads and sets its cookies. If you decline, or ignore the banner, nothing happens.
What we use#
| Name | Type | Purpose | Set when |
|---|---|---|---|
ktl_consent |
Local storage, not a cookie | Remembers your cookie choice so we stop asking | When you choose |
_ga, _ga_* |
Analytics cookie (Google) | Counts visits and shows which guides are useful | Only if you accept |
Why analytics are off by default#
Because UK law says non-essential cookies need consent before they are set, and because a page that loads no third-party scripts is faster for everyone. We use Google Consent Mode, so nothing is sent to Google unless you have said yes.
We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, or social media trackers, whether you consent or not.
Changing your mind#
Clear your browser's site data for keepthelot.co.uk and the banner will reappear on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time — nothing on this site depends on them.
More information#
